Sharing the same birthday as Birmingham’s brand new Teenage Cancer Trust unit, we get an update from Zara Free, who attends the opening of the unit on the day she turns 21! After being diagnosed at 14 with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia, Zara was treated at Birmingham Children’s Hospital, now finished with all her treatments and receiving regular check ups. As Zara gets a tour of the unit, she explains how much of a big difference it will make to teenagers being treated, amazed at the facilities available to patients and the contemporary design of the unit.
