Will was diagnosed at 24 years old with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma after months of doctors appointments and scans. Before diagnosis Will had been suffering with night sweats, sickness and a chronic cough but after an appointment with a heart specialist and a biopsy the diagnosis was finally made. Will talks about the panic he felt when he heard the words “Cancer” and “Chemotherapy” and how not only did his friends not understand his diagnosis, neither did he as he had never heard of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma before. Chemotherapy started and Will struggled to begin with not only with the usual side effects of treatment but he ended up in Intensive Care fighting for his life as his liver and kidney’s started to fail – something that at the time he didn’t realise just how ill he was.

  • I never realised just how lucky you were.
I suppose it matters more to appreciate what we have once you’ve looked down that road and seen nothing at the end.

    xx
